Caution when buying bupropion SR 150 mg at Target.

Don't ask me why, since we got the data from their own website, but Target is reluctant to honor their posted price of $9 for 17 pills (or $32 for 60, as we were quoted when we called to confirm this low price). Two people have now reported to me that they were charged in excess of $70 for this med when they simply turned in an Rx for "bupropion SR 150 mg #60 tabs".

Check the price out at the Target website, under "Smoking Cessation"
http://sites.target.com/site/en/health/generic_drugs.jsp.

Our suggestion is that you print out this page from Target's website before you go to the store with your script, to make sure they honor this advertised price.

It is important to check the allowed quantities. From what I have understood the prescription must be written upto the maximum allowed quantity. So if the allowed is 30 pills for $ 4 and one has a prescription for 40 one gets charged $10 as the next tier.
Target pharmacy supplies a printed list of their generic programs at the desk..so just ask and complain if they dont honor the price.
One other point - to save the maximum amount of money one should ask the doctor to write for the maximum allowed amount for a particular price if medically appropriate
