Asthma Website
Asthma care for the uninsured is ridiculously expensive. There are NO generic inhalers that we know of and asthma patients are really getting squeezed financially.
Reader Keri alerted LesliesList to an interesting website called:
The Chicago Asthma Consortium at: http://www.chicagoasthma.org
The website has a search page for clinics that accept sliding scale, have night and weekend hours, are in certain zip codes, etc. at:
http://www.chicagoasthma.org/site/location/search_location.exc?cmd=search_location&co_id=410&item_id=46454&isApp=true&addressview=true
The website also has a page for "Medication and Healthcare Assistance" that helps you to apply for medications for free from the manufacturer at: http://www.chicagoasthma.org/site/epage/17837_410.htm?backtoitemid=12595_410
And don't forget about www.needymeds.org, another website to help patients get free medications from the drug manufacturers.
